The Home of Gifting

KDW operated from the converted Ormonde Stables in Kilkenny City from its official opening in 1965 until its closure in 1988. The local crafts and gifts on display were hugely popular with visitors which in turn inspired the government to open the first Kilkenny Design store in Kilkenny City in 1965. A second store followed on Nassau St, Dublin in 1976 which remains our flagship store today. Workshops were staffed with teams of creatives; artists designers, craftspeople, apprentices, graduates and students, including technicians and chemists to assist with research and development. The management team also consisted of a creative and active board that included artists Louis le Brocquy, Pat Scott and Sir Basil Goulding. After having several remodels on my home by a different contractor who retired, I gave Pathway Design & Construction a try when I needed my kitchen and deck remodeled. They were extremely receptive of my feedback and went out of their way to resolve any issue that I brought to their attention. There was always good communication from the initial planning stages to the final project review. Our team offers individually designed spaces centered around the people inhabiting the home.
